On Tuesday, August 12, the Pioneer Division will be going on an exciting trip to Dorney Park, an outdoor ride and amusement park!
If your child will not be attending this trip, please reply to this email to let us know asap.
DEPARTURE: Please drop off at 8:45 AM. We will be leaving at 9:00AM sharp. Campers who arrive late will miss the buses, so please be sure to be on time.
Please make sure your child eats breakfast before leaving the house, and/or brings food/snacks to eat on the bus ride.
LATE RETURN:
We are scheduled to return at 6:00PM. We will communicate any information about delays via the Remind text. Make sure you are subscribed to the second session remind group.
PLEASE send sunscreen along, which will be reapplied as necessary, and a sun hat. Please send a water bottle for the ride to and from the trip.
Please do not send spending money with your child. We will not be stopping at gift shops, or food courts. No purchase of food or toys will be allowed.
Please do not send cell phones and do not allow kids to bring cell phones. Both money and cell phones are a major distraction from the trip and often ruin a child's experience of what would otherwise be a great time with friends.
Please send children in their current camp t-shirts. Your child will not be allowed on the trip without the current year camp shirt. This is very important for safety to keep kids together in a group.
Please keep in mind that Dorney Park is an all outdoor amusement park with rides, roller coasters and boat rides on which kids get wet. There is also lot of walking around. No flip flops or loose fitted shoes please.
PLEASE SEND KIDS WEARING SNEAKERS OR OTHER CLOSED STURDY SHOES.
We will NOT be visiting the water park, so no need for bathing suit. However we WILL be going on water rides and may be getting real wet. PLEASE send comfortable clothes and closed toe walking shoes or sneakers.
The following are procedures we will enforce to ensure every child’s safety throughout the day.
Parents, please instruct children that they must remain with their group and follow counselors instructions at all times.
1. Rabbi Mendel, team leaders and camp counselors will be constantly in touch via radio, and with the camp office via cell phones.
2. Comfortable, air-conditioned coach buses will bring the children there and back.
3. A cooler of water is brought along on each bus to keep the children hydrated.
4. Campers will be placed with buddies, and will walk with counselors in the park, and will be counted constantly.
5. Each bunk will stop for frequent bathroom breaks. No campers will go into bathrooms by themselves.
6. All campers will wear wristbands with the camp number in case of emergency.
7. Campers will be provided with the regular camp lunch and snacks scheduled for that day.
You may send your own lunch and snacks, (kosher, no nuts please.)
8. Campers will be encouraged to drink at regular intervals. Please make sure to send your water bottles to camp filled with cold water.
Please email with any questions.
Sincerely,
Rabbi Mendel & Elke Zaltzman
Camp Director
